Dr. Frank M. Mills , D.V.M.
Dr. Mills was educated at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He first earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Microbiology. Dr. Mills earned and was awarded the degree, Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine (DVM), from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. Dr. Mills has had additional training in orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, and emergency medicine during a preceptor externship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, New York. Dr. Mills also had additional training with the surgical specialists at California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles, California during a preceptor externship. Dr. Mills completed his formal internship program in general medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine at Hollywood Animal Hospital in Hollywood, Florida at the end of 1991. Since then, Dr. Mills has been in private practice at Pasadena Veterinary Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Dr. Mills has a very strong interest in surgery and in 1999 he was trained in laser surgery. Since then Dr. Mills has become one of the most experienced laser surgeons on Florida’s West Coast.
Dr. Mills has been a leader in organized veterinary medicine, having served as President and on the board of directors for the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Society and the Pinellas Animal Foundation. Dr. Mills has served on the executive board of directors for the Florida Veterinary Medical Association and has been awarded the Gold Star Award for Outstanding Contributions to Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mills has served as chairman of the alumni council of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mills is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA), Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association (PCVMA), and the Pinellas Animal Foundation (PAF).
Dr. Mills has a pomeranian dog named “Sugar Bear,” and three cats named “Hangaberg,” “Ti Chi,” and “Princess Leia.”
